The Ponagar Tower Festival 2025 takes place from April 16 to 20 (ie from March 19 to 23.) with 13 rituals. In which, the opening is a water procession and some important ceremonies such as: medicine exchange ceremony, opening ceremony, flower lantern release ceremony, national peace Prayer ceremony, crow's hour worship ceremony, Cam community peace Prayer ceremony, traditional offering ceremony...
Ponagar Tower relic dates from the 8th to the 13th century, located right at the mouth of Cai River, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa. With extremely special architecture, this is an important place of worship for both Cham and Vietnamese people. In January 2025, Ponagar Tower relic was ranked by the Government as a special national monument.
According to Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ponagar Tower Festival in 2025, this is a traditional festival held annually with the purpose of praising and remembering the merit of the goddess Ponagar - the mother country of the Cham people, also the Holy Mother Thien Y A Na of the Vietnamese to pray for the national people of peace and rain.
In 2012, Ponagar Tower festival was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages. In order for the festival and special national monument of Ponagar Tower to increasingly promote its value, Khanh Hoa province and the people continue to preserve unique cultural features.
At the same time, building cultural products associated with sustainable tourism development, making Ponagar Tower an attractive cultural and spiritual destination.
This year, the festival took place before the holiday, but the number of people registering to come with the incense offering groups was quite large with 100 groups from other provinces and cities registering.
Every year, Ponagar Tower festival welcomes 30,000-50,000 visitors to offer incense and go to the festival, so the festival organization is always focused on by the organizing committee, ensuring safety, civilization, preserving traditional identity, avoiding commercial and superstitious manifestations.
