The 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day was held in Ninh Binh by the Vietnam Writers Association in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province.
Attending the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; along with many writers, poets and poetry lovers across the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day, Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc - Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee - said that Vietnam Poetry Day was first held in 2003 to honor the good values of poetry and the contributions of poets to the development of national culture, and is a festival for those working in creative arts.
In 2025, Vietnam Poetry Day with the theme "Flying up the Fatherland". Proud to be the place to preserve many historical and cultural values passed down from generations of ancestors, Ninh Binh province is deeply aware of its responsibility and duty to the future, has focused all resources on investment in preserving and promoting heritage values, developing culture, literature and art; Striving to build Ninh Binh province by 2035 to become a centrally-governed city with the characteristics of a millennium heritage urban area, a creative city, a center of tourism, and cultural industry of the Red River Delta region, of the whole country and internationally.
In recent times, Ninh Binh has successfully organized many national and international cultural, sports, art and scientific events with strong influence. The fact that the Vietnam Writers Association chose Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh - a millennium heritage city, a cultural landscape heritage city to organize the 23rd Poetry Day shows the important interest and encouragement of intellectuals nationwide so that Ninh Binh can continue to affirm itself as a place to gather and organize cultural, literary and artistic events of national scale, reaching international level.
"Ninh Binh province hopes to continue receiving the attention, leadership and direction of the leaders of the Party, State, leaders of ministries, branches and central organizations, the joint efforts and consensus of intellectuals and scholars across the country, especially writers and poets across the country, so that Ninh Binh can successfully achieve the set goals, soon put Ninh Binh on the list of UNESCO's creative cities and the poetic mountain of Duc Thuy Son - Non Nuoc Mountain will soon become a world documentary heritage" - Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc emphasized.
