The workshop was chaired by Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong and researcher Pham Xuan Thanh, Chairman of the City Historical Science Association.
According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai, the Workshop was organized to continue to conduct in-depth and comprehensive research on the cultural and human values of Hai Phong - a source of endogenous strength and driving force for development. The results of the workshop will provide an important scientific basis for the city to propose policies and solutions to promote the cultural identity and people of Hai Phong, contributing to the sustainable development of the city and the country in the new era.
Hai Phong City was formed and developed on the foundation of a land with a long history, strategically located in the historical process of building and defending the country of the nation. Generations of Hai Phong people have made an important contribution to fostering and shining Vietnamese cultural identity, while creating a unique cultural identity for residents in the eastern sea of the Northern Delta. Chairman of the Hai Phong Historical Science Association Pham Xuan Thanh said that during the research process on Hai Phong City, the issue of identifying and proposing solutions to promote Hai Phong's cultural and human identity in the cause of building and developing the city and the country was mentioned from different perspectives and levels. However, up to now, there has not been any specific research on the issue of researching in a meticulous, serious, and direct manner about the cultural identity and people of Hai Phong. To more effectively implement the Party's policies and Resolutions on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development, the Workshop focused on scientifically clarifying the goals, viewpoints, and solutions for promoting the identity, culture and people of Hai Phong...
The workshop received nearly 20 presentations from scientists and managers focusing on research on issues of land, history, culture, and people of Hai Phong; overview and characteristics of Hai Phong culture; real estate, solutions to preserve, exploit, and promote the values of Hai Phong's cultural and human identity.
At the workshop, scientists presented a number of important presentation reports, focusing on the historical and cultural aspects and development orientation of Hai Phong: History of Hai Phong land and people; Developing mechanisms and policies to promote the development of cultural industry in Hai Phong; Building a civilized, modern urban lifestyle with unique identity - an endogenous resource for sustainable development of Hai Phong city... contributing to clarifying the cultural and human values of Hai Phong, while proposing solutions to promote sustainable development of the city in the future.
