Based on the popular comic book "Trauma Center: Golden Hour," "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" delves into the dramatic world of doctors as they face life-or-death situations involving critically ill patients.
The project attracted attention with the participation of Joo Ji Hoon - the actor who has just caused a stir on the small screen with two works of different colors, "Light Store" and "Falling in Love with an Enemy".
In the new drama, Joo Ji Hoon plays the lead role of Baek Kang Hyuk, a genius surgeon with a stubborn personality who does not want to compromise. He revives the hospital's trauma center and saves patients who are on the brink of life and death.
According to Korean media, in the first images of the role, Joo Ji Hoon impressed with his calmness and confidence in emergency situations. Along with that, the way the character appeared in the war zone with a large displacement motorbike, sunburned skin but still did not forget the mission of saving people scored points.
Revealing about his character, Joo Ji Hoon said: "Baek Kang Hyuk is a fearless character who possesses both skills and intelligence. I felt excited and refreshed when he fought against injustice. It felt like a superhero story."
Accompanying the 43-year-old actor at the "Trauma Care Center" is Yang Jae Won (Choo Young Woo), a promising surgeon and currently a colon surgery researcher. As Kang Hyuk's first student, Jae Won fights with his "teacher" to save critically ill patients and grows up day by day.
