"Where to Run to Escape 2" (Veteran 2/I, the Executioner) is the sequel to the 2015 film - a work that caused a stir at the Korean box office with 13.41 million views.
On September 13, the film will be released to Korean audiences, continuing the story of the punishment of tycoons who exploit vulnerable people by police officer Seo Do Chul (Hwang Jung Min) and his colleague Park Sun Woo ( Jung Hae In ).
Returning to the hit project after 9 years, Hwang Jung Min said he focused on maintaining the continuity of the character Seo Do Chul with the audience.
“I think the audience will not see any changes when watching the sequel. So I used the same outfit and hairstyle from the previous work.
9 years have passed, Hwang Jung Min has grown old, not Seo Do Chul. To express the character's inherent nature, I tried my best to maintain youthfulness and energy in the scenes."
Meanwhile, director Ryu Seung Wan explained that the reason the film's release was delayed was because he had to balance the success of the first part with new elements. The male director also praised Jung Hae In's integration in this project.
“Jung Hae In is very suitable for the film. He has a high sense of responsibility and dedication when filming and even practicing action scenes. It's good to do a lot, but Hae In is too immersed and absorbed, so she was deducted 0.01 points on a 10-point scale.
Jung Hae In personally also revealed that when filming this movie, he faced a lot of pressure because of the popularity of his previous work. However, he believes that many audiences will also enjoy this sequel.
“It would be a lie to say that I don't feel pressure about the success of the previous part. This pressure comes in handy on set. I tried to use this pressure in the opposite direction, and I think overcoming such pressure is also part of what I need to do as an actor.”
Along with the upcoming movie, Jung Hae In is currently receiving love from the audience when he falls in love with Jung So Min in the romantic comedy "Love Next Door" (Love Story Next Door/Mother's Friend's Son). After 2 episodes, the film recorded positive viewership, reaching 4.9% and 6% respectively.
