On the morning of July 20, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper about the boat problem in Tam Coc Tourist Area (Ninh Binh Province), the leader of the provincial Department of Tourism said that immediately after the incident, the Department directed the Tourist Area Management Board to carry out rescue work, after about 30 minutes, all people and boats were rescued to the wharf safely, with no tourists injured.
At that time, the tourist area management board mobilized 3 motorboats to rescue about 90 passengers.
"However, because the distance from the boat stuck to the wharf was about 3km, we had to go many times. The rescue team also prioritized bringing in elderly tourists, children and international visitors first, so some of the rescue passengers later could not help but feel indignant. This is the first incident to occur at Tam Coc Tourist Area due to the unexpected impact of the weather," said the leader of Ninh Binh Province Department of Tourism.
In fact, at Tam Coc Tourist Area, the Management Board has also equipped rescue boats and rescue forces on duty 24/7.
Previously, on July 19, information appeared on some websites about a group of tourists trapped due to heavy rain and strong winds during a visit to Tam Coc Tourist Area.
The leader of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism also informed that absolutely no tourists were trapped during the tour. Information about tourists getting stuck when visiting Tam Coc Tourist Area by boat this afternoon (July 19) is incorrect. On the same afternoon, all tourists returned to the wharf and boarded safely.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, on the morning of July 20, at Tam Coc Tourist Area, sightseeing activities continued normally. Although, Ninh Binh currently has light rain.

To proactively respond to storm No. 3 (Wipha), the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism also issued a document requesting tourist areas and destinations to proactively deploy timely and effective flood and storm prevention plans, putting the safety of tourists' lives first, absolutely not being subjective. When the weather is bad, stop sightseeing activities immediately and promptly notify tourists, travel agencies and authorities.
Arrange rescue forces and vehicles at key locations; publicize hotline phone numbers; install full directional signs and warning signs of danger. Organize training on first aid skills, emergency situation handling for employees and closely coordinate with authorities in all situations.
Hotel, restaurant, and other service establishments proactively monitor the weather situation, develop and deploy appropriate storm prevention plans.
Facilities must check, reinforce infrastructure, ensure safety for tourists and staff; prepare necessities, and arrange human resources to be on duty 24/7 during the storm. At the same time, it is necessary to promptly inform visitors about weather conditions, guide safety measures, publicize contact phone numbers and closely coordinate with local authorities to handle incidents when necessary.
