Based on the novel of the same name, Reaching for the Moon tells the story of 3 office workers - Jung Da Hae (Lee Sun Bin), Kang Eun Sang (Ra Mi Ran), Kim Ji Song (Jo Aram) who come from difficult circumstances, struggling to make a living on a small salary, but dare to try their luck with virtual currency.
In that journey, they meet Ham Ji Woo (Kim Young Dae) - a rich, successful guy who always feels lonely in a world of luxury. That encounter awakened his faith and dreams that seemed to be long-forgotten.
The work marks the return of Lee Sun Bin after the gloomy film in terms of ratings - Potato Research Institute, co-starring with Kang Tae Oh. However, instead of worrying, the actress is extremely excited about the new project.
The story of different generations - characters in their twenties, 30s and 40s - all aimed for a very attractive goal for me. As soon as I read the script, I was attracted by the real circumstances and emotions of the characters living in that era.
Sharing about Jung Da Hae - who never loses hope for a better future despite his difficult daily life, Lee Sun Bin described the character as a "round roll toy", always standing up behind each fall.
Da Hae may be lacking in some aspects and sometimes unfortunate, but like a round toy, she is very good at standing up and comforting herself. This is a strong character, always trying to move forward" - she said.
According to Lee Sun Bin, the character Da Hae Co shares 60% of her personality in real life. Especially the relentless perseverance, fighting and overcoming difficulties on your own. Therefore, to portray the most realistic role, the actress focuses on portraying the emotions of the character, to create empathy with the audience.
I want Da Hae to be a character who can represent many people who are exhausted by life, but at the same time can also bring comfort to everyone.
Because our film contains a chaotic yet realistic and close story that the characters experience together in their twenties, 30s and 40s; the harmonious combination of 3 women and an emotional love story, I hope everyone will laugh and cry with it.
"Reaching for the Moon" will premiere on September 19.
