In an interview promoting the movie "Colony", Jun Ji Hyun attracted attention when sharing the reason why she has never used social media.
The actress will celebrate her 30th anniversary of debut next year. She started her career as a model in 1997, then switched to acting and became one of the leading stars of Korean cinema.

While many actors today open YouTube channels or use social networks to interact with fans, Jun Ji Hyun still does not open any personal accounts.
When asked about this, the actress frankly said: "Because I'm afraid I might make mistakes. That's just one of the simple reasons. Perhaps because I've been active since I was young, I'm not used to expressing myself and I don't feel comfortable doing it.
Jun Ji Hyun said she understands that the times have changed, many colleagues may be used to sharing personal lives. However, she herself does not feel natural when doing the same.
I don't think I need to be comfortable with that. There are people who are not afraid to show private aspects, but there are also people who are not like that," Jun Ji Hyun said.
When asked if she ever thought about opening a YouTube channel like many other artists, Jun Ji Hyun only answered briefly: "I am not confident. I just want to continue to do what I am good at".
The actress also admitted that she feels pressured when having to talk about her private life. According to Jun Ji Hyun, viewers may be curious because she has not appeared in entertainment programs for a long time and rarely has the opportunity to share her personal story. However, she believes that the main purpose of the interviews is to promote the work, not to pay attention to herself.
Honestly, I am not comfortable talking about myself. I came here to promote my work, so I don't think focusing on me is right" - the actress shared.
In the movie "Colony", the story revolves around survivors isolated inside a building, after the place was blockaded due to a mysterious infection.
