Talking to reporters on the morning of December 9, musician To Hieu confirmed that artist Thuong Tin had passed away after a long battle with illness.
In the last years of his life, Thuong Tin was in poor health, had to use a wheelchair and live a quiet life.
Artist Thuong Tin was born in 1956. He came from the cai luong stage. After that, Thuong Tin quickly switched to cinema and became one of the famous actors in the 1980s. With a handsome appearance, strong eyes and sharp acting, he left a deep impression through a series of classic roles: Major Luu Ky Vong in Van fat dong, general bandit Bach Hai Duong in SBC, Sau Tam in Saigon Border Guard, or Tam Thuong in the Sea of Half Moon Sharing Company.
As of 2015, he has participated in more than 200 films - a rare record for Vietnamese actors. During his peak, there were years when he acted in dozens of films, becoming a widespread face on the big and small screens. For many audiences, Thuong Tin is not only a talented actor but also a symbol of revolutionary films and the image of Vietnamese heroes on screen.
In addition to his brilliant career, Thuong Tin's life also went through many events. He has had many turbulent marriages, including a time living in the US with singer My Dung. Finally, because he missed his job, he returned to Vietnam to continue pursuing cinema and raising his son. Later, he had another daughter with a wife 32 years younger. In conversations, artists do not avoid the past but admit that everything that happens is their own choice.
