The first season of The Voice Kids in 2013 brought names like Quang Anh (champion) and Phuong My Chi (runner-up) closer to the public. The music playground "Kids Idol" in 2016 witnessed the convincing coronation of Ho Van Cuong. From a poor boy who sang at weddings for hire, Ho Van Cuong became a child music phenomenon at that time when he chose folk music to pursue.

Escape from the shadow of "child star"
Before Quang Anh and Thien Nhan, there were names like Xuan Mai, Xuan Nghi, and baby Chau... who were also child music phenomena but when they grew up, they could not maintain their reputation and were "nailed" by the audience with the image of "child music prodigy". However, with stars like Quang Anh, after a noisy time, he has now shown his maturity and breakthrough, escaping the shadow of the child star of the past.
The moment Rhyder (aka Quang Anh) won the runner-up prize in the show “Brother Say Hi” (on the evening of September 14), many viewers thought that he had somewhat matured and could escape the label of a child star to pursue artistic activities as a music star.
Before making an impressive appearance in “Brother Say Hi”, Rhyder entered the Best Song 2022 and Rap Viet 2023 competitions, but did not achieve high results. This also shows that Rhyder is aware that he has to step out of his comfort zone to find new, more sustainable directions for himself.
Compared to before, Rhyder now not only sings but also composes and produces music. Rhyder's runner-up position this time has more than 800,000 votes from the audience. It proves that his direction has been recognized and supported by the audience.
Phuong My Chi - the runner-up of the first season of The Voice Kids, although always maintaining her form from when she was a child star to adulthood, in the past few years, she has tried very hard to bring new colors to music, no longer confined to the nickname "folk song girl". In particular, the album "Vu tru co bay" celebrating 10 years of singing of the female singer shows great maturity in her music.
As for Ho Van Cuong, with Ngoc Son's guidance, the male singer is now gradually regaining his form and his voice is more stable after a period of broken voice. Ho Van Cuong still releases music products and performs regularly.
For famous child talents, to continue to be successful when they grow up requires them to make a lot of effort. In particular, with an entertainment market that is easy to eliminate, the title of "child star" cannot be a "talisman" to help them retain the audience forever if there are no changes, musical orientation to suit the audience's taste. They need to update the audience's trends, constantly develop themselves so that their image is always fresh in the public eye.
