On the evening of November 29, lecturer Minh Nguyet - Tu Long's wife - shared her pride when her husband completed his PhD thesis, calling it a memorable milestone and a meaningful show of gratitude for the art of Cheo.
People's Artist Tu Long became the first artist of the Army Cheo Theater to receive a doctorate degree.
Tu Long's protection session was attended by his parents ( Meritorious Artist Vu Tu Lam and Meritorious Artist Minh Phuc), close friend of People's Artist Xuan Bac and his wife and children.
Born in 1974 in Bac Ninh in a family with a rich tradition of stage acting, People's Artist Tu Long was soon taught to sing Cheo by his parents. However, due to difficult circumstances, he studied at Bac Ninh Construction College, graduated from the Faculty of Forestry and worked in many manual crafts before pursuing an artistic career.
In 1998, Tu Long graduated from the Cheo Department and joined the Cheo Youth Union of the General Department of Logistics, starting with small roles before affirming his name. He owns 13 professional stage art medals and was highly appreciated by People's Artist Tao Mat.
Since 2000, Tu Long has been famous for performing comedy with Xuan Bac in "Gap nhau cuoi dan". He is currently the Director of the Army Cheo Theater, actively preserving the art of Cheo.
Tu Long was named Best Artist in 2012, People's Artist in 2015 and promoted to the rank of Colonel on July 30, 2020.
