The family theme has been exploited a lot by VFC and achieved success. So, in your opinion, what is really new and different about the script for Gia dinh lao kim to attract audiences in the current forest of family films?
- In my opinion, the script of the film "Gia dinh dong" will reach a lot of audiences because the current situation shown in the film is very large. The audience will feel themselves in it, the urgency of many aspects of life is realistically recreated.
The way we chose to let the story go is to be gentle. Sometimes, the peak of suffering is expressed through humor, or the peak of humor is suffering. I want to reach the audience in a different way, whether through humorous or surprise elements. Although the film is still a psychological family story, it is viewed from a more optimistic and gentle perspective. I hope the audience will receive the film in a positive light.
Can you share any special memories during filming, especially related to bringing real emotions to the audience?
- In the film, there are scenes that are so emotional that we don't need to act. However, there was a scene where I was riding a motorbike and fell. Director Vu Truong Khoa did not agree because he was worried that I would be injured, affecting the progress of the film crew. But because I wanted to bring a real feeling, close to life, I asked the director to let me fall in that segment myself. Because I used to drive a large displacement motorbike, the filming was done under control, without causing injury or scratch.
In the film, the relationship between Mr. Phi and Ms. Anh has many humorous and ironic situations. In your opinion, where is the "second character" shown?
- In the film, I play Mr. Phi, the husband of Mrs. Anh played by Meritorious Artist Kieu Anh. In many families, when happiness is at stake, people will rise up by all means to maintain stability in life, whether in terms of affection or work. Therefore, although there are many uncomfortable crying and laughing situations in the film, it is the catalyst to express each person's personality. Only when falling into a difficult situation, people reveal many qualities, which can be an advantage but can also be a disadvantage. That is the interesting point that I highly appreciate in the film script, which will make the audience sympathize with each character image.
With the modern pace of life, many families face two current situations: living together but living apart and having financial problems. Does the film exploit the content of these two conditions?
- In fact, the film "Family left a scar" talks about these two topics: Living together but apart from work, money affects life and feelings. When I received the script, I read it and reflected it without being able to finish it. Attractive scripts and situations are always suggested, current events in life are updated quickly. The film's content shows that life is not shaped, no one can answer the question of what life will be like a year later, 10 years later. Life is gradually being suggested in the natural direction of emotions and we just persevere like the washed away water.
In your opinion, what is the biggest message that Mr. Phi's family's journey wants to send to the audience, especially in the context of modern pressures such as staff streamlining, finance or generational gaps?
- The film conveys the message of affection and understanding, sharing among relatives in the family, especially in the context of modern pressures such as staff streamlining, financial pressure, and generation gaps. Mr. Phi's family's journey shows that any gap can be narrowed if the family members are willing to face each other and move forward together.
After many years of being involved in art and achieving a noble title, how do you define the value of simplicity and simplicity in current life?
- After many films I have participated in, I really need and really want peace of mind.I am sure that peace is also the common desire of many people.
