Immediately after announcing the project, the movie Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love) starring Kaity Nguyen attracted public attention.
After a 3-month filming journey from North to South, the producer of Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love) revealed the first images featuring Kaity Nguyen, Tran Ngoc Vang, and Thanh Son.
Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love) is a remake of the famous Thai movie Friendzone.
The Vietnamese version is called Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love), in which Kaity Nguyen plays the role of Binh An, "fate or debt" with Bao Toan (Tran Ngoc Vang) and Vu Tran (Thanh Son).
Appearing on the same promotional poster, all three have completely opposite expressions.
While Binh An (Kaity Nguyen) shows Vu Tran (Thanh Son) sweet and affectionate gestures, Bao Toan (Tran Ngoc Vang) gets his ear pinched by Binh An mischievously. This image makes the audience immediately think of a twisted, complicated, and humorous love triangle.
Working together on the big screen for the first time, the trio shared many thoughts about the characters they play.
Sharing about the role of Binh An, Kaity expressed: "Binh An always longs to be loved. When struggling between emotions and reason, she is willing to love madly, even blindly, regardless of right or wrong.
Through a journey full of irony and emotions, Binh An slows down to feel and understand all the emotions around him.
In Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love), Kaity Nguyen also takes on the role of Creative Producer, contributing to the creative process and shaping the film's style.
Tran Ngoc Vang said he deeply sympathized with the character Bao Toan from the first script readings: "The most similar point between me and Bao Toan is the personality, energy, and excitement wherever we are. I have researched and delved deeply to live this role in the most complete way."
As for Thanh Son, although he resembles Vu Tran in his goatee look, there are still some differences between him and the character.
“In Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love), Vu Tran is the director and producer, knows how to play many musical instruments, this is my biggest challenge when playing the role, because I have to learn to play the guitar in a short time", the actor shared.
Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love) is the first movie directed by director Diep The Vinh, accompanied by director Nguyen Quang Dung.
Entering the 2025 Tet movie race, "Yeu nham ban than (Best Friend in Love) competes with Tran Thanh's Bo tu bao thu (The Trouble Quartet) and Thu Trang's Chuyen xe nhu y (The Wishful Car Journey).
