Teach you a lesson" (Vietnamese title: Bài học đáng đời) tells about the activities of the Department for the Protection of Educational Rights (ERPB), an agency established to rectify the degraded educational environment due to behaviors that exceed limits from students, teachers and parents.
Immediately after its release, the film rose to the top of the Netflix TV drama chart in Korea, and is currently ranked 3rd on the Netflix global TV show chart for the day, as of June 9.
In the first episode, inspector Na Hwa Jin (played by Kim Moo Yeol) of ERPB comes to Daehan High School after a student jumps from a building and dies. Here, he dismantles a group of students led by Ryu Jun Hyung (played by Lee Seung Gyu), who often bully and harm their classmates.
Song Young Kyu plays Ryu Kwang Pil - the father of student Ryu Jun Hyung, and also the presidential candidate of the ruling Happiness and Hope party.

Ryu Kwang Pil is a politician who always stands behind protecting his son who has committed school violence. He seeks to use power to settle and cover up the incident.
Right from the beginning of the film, this character took advantage of his position as a congressman and a promising presidential candidate to put pressure on the school and the education system.
However, after the Department for the Protection of Educational Rights intervened, his son's illegal acts and his own scandals were successively exposed, leading to a complete collapse.
Although only playing a guest role, Song Young Kyu is considered to have very convincingly portrayed the image of a politician with two faces: one is the arrogance of the person in power, the other is the anxiety of people being pushed to the brink to protect their fame and status.
His acting contributed significantly to increasing the tension and appeal of the film.
Before this performance, many viewers left comments such as: "It's Song Young Kyu", "As soon as he appeared, the feeling of role-playing in the movie was completely different", "Knowing this is his last legacy makes me even more regretful"...

Teach you a lesson" completed filming last year and became the last film of the late actress Song Young Kyu.
In August last year, Song Young Kyu was found dead in a car in a residential area in Yongin city (Korea), at the age of 55.
His passing caused a public shock when at that time the movies he participated in such as "The Defects" by ENA and "The Winning Try" by SBS were still in the process of being broadcast or preparing to air.
Debuting from the drama stage in 1994, Song Young Kyu is a familiar face to Korean audiences through many famous works such as "Extreme Job", "Hot stove league", "Penthouse 3", "Hyena", "Big Bet", "The Tale of Lady Ok"...
With his diverse transformation ability and rich personality acting style, he left a deep impression in the hearts of the Korean public throughout more than 3 decades of artistic activities.
