The romantic comedy "Our Universe" (Vietnamese title: Trao em cả vũ trụ) tells the story of Sun Tae Hyung (Bae In Hyuk) and Woo Hyun Jin (Roh Jeong Eui) - two in-laws who unexpectedly raise their grandson Woo Joo together. After moving in together, they begin a journey of maturity and develop love.
Before official screening on February 4, the film surprised when it topped the audience's interest rate, with 19.99%, according to Soompi statistics. Korean media also expects the film's story to be humorous, with many situations about the "enemy couple" from hating to loving, after living together and overcoming all challenges will be told in a humorous lens, contributing to keeping audiences in front of the screen.
But in reality, when it aired, the work did not achieve the expected results in terms of viewership ratings. After 6 episodes of screening, the best viewership rating recorded by the film was 1.9%, achieved in episode 1. After that, the rating of the work fluctuated erratically, maintaining in the range of 1.3%-1.8%.
Throughout the 6 episodes, the story of "Our Universe" focuses on the journey to find dreams, grow up and learn to love of the 2 main characters. However, the level of audience interest is mainly focused on the appearance of child actor Park Yoo Ho - who plays Woo Joo.
Previously, director Jung Yeo Jin emphasized that Woo Joo is "the factor that makes the film different", while the cast shared that filming with child actors brought "many unexpected but happy moments on set".
According to the director, what she aims for in the work is a "desirable story about dreams, love and children". "The film's content may be a hint of science fiction, but we want it to touch the hearts of viewers like a personal story. Even amidst the fatigue of taking care of children, there are still moments when we are healed" - the director added.
Previously, male lead Bae In Hyuk also revealed that thanks to this project, he had experienced part of taking care of children. This made him realize the meaning of responsibility and even more respect parents because being a parent is a wonderful thing.
