On February 27, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province confirmed that before the proposal to donate a film set for the feature film "Red Rain" (abbreviated as "Red Rain" film set) of the People's Army Cinema - General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the locality had considered and decided not to accept it.
Mr. Hoang Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that the locality thanked the People's Army Cinema for their attention to the proposal to donate a Red Rain film studio, but the locality did not accept it for many reasons.
The location of the film set is next to the Thach Han River bank, this is a low-lying area, often affected during the rainy season. In addition, the film set was built on agricultural land of households in Tich Tuong village (Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town) and quarter 1 (An Don ward, Quang Tri town).
In particular, the film set was built with an unsafe structure, and the current state after filming is no longer intact, making it difficult to renovate, preserve and develop it into a tourist destination.
The locality is also concerned that when the flood season comes, the above infrastructure will be swept away into the Thach Han River, affecting the flow.
Therefore, Quang Tri province proposed that the People's Army Cinema collect scrap and items; level and restore the land for households to continue agricultural production.
It is known that the film Red Rain reflects the brave and resilient fight of the people and officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army during 81 days and nights to protect the ancient citadel of Quang Tri. To have realistic scenes, the People's Army Cinema has built the entire Quang Tri Ancient Citadel studio with magnificent and elaborate scenes.
