According to the latest announcement, Netflix's original drama "When life gives you tangerines", which premiered on March 7, recorded 3.6 million views and 13.9 million viewing hours in just 3 days (March 7 to 9.3), taking 4th place on the global non-English TV show chart last week.
Notably, the film was invested with a budget of 60 billion won by IU and Park Bo Gum entered the top 10 Netflix in 24 countries, of which the film ranked top 1 in Korea.
Set in Jeju Island, When Life Is for You tells the adventurous journey of rybisher Ae Soon (played by IU) and dead fool Gwan Shik (played by Park Bo Gum) over the course of 4 seasons.
The story also features two veteran actors Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon as middle-aged versions of Ae Soon and Gwan Shik. In addition, the film also has the participation of supporting actors Yum Hye Ran, Kim Yong Rim, Oh Jung Se... further enhancing the quality of the work.
