HCMC - The Ministry of Construction approved the policy of allowing the reception of international passenger ships at some ports in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area until June 30, 2026.

On October 17, the Ministry of Construction sent a document to the Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration approving the policy of continuing to receive international passenger ships at a number of ports in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area.

To take advantage of the existing seaport infrastructure to meet the needs of tourism development in the area, the Ministry of Construction approved the policy of allowing continued receipt of international passenger ships at some ports in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area of Ho Chi Minh City seaport as received in the past until June 30, 2026. The size of the passenger ship received is consistent with the size of the ship in the decision to announce the port.

The Ministry of Construction assigns the Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration to be responsible for agreeing on specific contents according to specialized maritime regulations and relevant legal regulations.

In addition, guide, supervise, and request port enterprises to: review, arrange adequate equipment, develop a plan to receive international passenger ships to ensure the safety of passengers and port works, ensure security, maritime safety, fire prevention and fighting, and environmental protection.

At the same time, promptly complete the procedures to add the function of the port to receive international passenger ships for official announcement before June 30, 2026.
