The movie "Thỏ ơi!!" became the film with the most outstanding growth rate in this year's Tet movie season and continues to affirm the box office attraction of the male director.
According to data from the independent box office observer Box Office Vietnam, on its opening day, the movie "Thỏ ơi!!" quickly surpassed the 50 billion VND mark. The growth momentum continued to be maintained for the next two days, helping the movie reach the 100 billion VND mark after only 3 days, creating a significant gap compared to competitors at the same time.
Before being released in theaters, the work soon attracted attention when it set a record for the highest number of pre-ordered tickets in Vietnamese cinemas of all time with more than 130,000 tickets. Many screenings at major cinema complexes are continuously fully booked, especially during prime time. Although labeled 18+, this does not significantly affect ticket sales speed, as a large number of adult audiences still flock to the cinema during Tet.
Surveys at some cinemas in the center of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City show that the movie "Thỏ ơi!!" clearly dominates in terms of number of screenings and number of viewers. Meanwhile, the remaining Tet movies such as "Nhà ba tôi một phòng", "Báu vật trời cho" and "Mùi phở" still maintain a stable audience but have not been able to create a breakthrough in revenue in the first days of the new year.
The achievement of 100 billion VND after 3 days continues to extend Tran Thanh's successful Tet film season series. Previously, works directed or produced by him such as "Mai" reached 551 billion VND, "Nha ba Nu" grossed 460 billion VND and "Bo tu bao thu" reached 332 billion VND, all in the group of Vietnamese films with the highest revenue ever.
