The delegation of the Cinema Association attending the meeting with artists and writers of General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Party and State on the afternoon of December 30 included Chairman of the Cinema Association, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Vice Chairman of the Cinema Association, MC - actor Quyen Linh and actress Thanh Huong... Thanh Huong is an actress who just won the Golden Kite Award in the category of Best Actress in a TV series in 2024 for her role in the film "Life is still beautiful".
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, actress Thanh Huong said: “I am very honored to be included in the list of 200 artists attending the meeting of General Secretary To Lam. During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam listened to the statements, thoughts, aspirations and even the concerns and difficulties of artists from many fields and specialties of culture and art. The General Secretary sympathized with the artists.
What I remember most, and what moved me the most, was the General Secretary's appreciation of the contributions of artists and writers in many historical periods, their roles from the past to the present and the future. That gave me and many artists strength, becoming a great motivation for us to strive even harder, to be more aware of our social responsibilities.
After the meeting with General Secretary To Lam, we were inspired, we were on the right path, our passion and dedication were always recognized by the Party and the State. Indeed, there is nothing more proud than that".
According to Thanh Huong, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the role of artists in the new era, the need to elevate works, so that each work is imbued with patriotism, has a calling to the people, so that Vietnamese culture and beauty can step out into the world.
Listening to the sharing and instructions from the General Secretary, Thanh Huong and many artists clearly understood their roles and responsibilities, became more aware of their contributions, and devoted themselves to their passion for art.
Actress Thanh Huong is currently a member of the Hanoi Drama Theater. “As President Ho Chi Minh advised, “culture and art are also a front. Artists are soldiers on that front, artistic soldiers have the duty to… serve the Fatherland, serve the People…”.
For many years, Hanoi Drama Theater has developed and staged many plays to participate in activities to celebrate and commemorate the country's major holidays. We perform for free to serve people from all over the country. When participating in plays about national history, my colleagues and I are always proud and honored.
We performed with all the emotion, gratitude, and respect of the next generation towards the previous generation who sacrificed for the history of the nation. I, like many colleagues of my generation, want to perform more plays like this, so that the audience of our next generation can see their responsibility in preserving the beauty, cultural quintessence, and history of the nation," she shared.
Thanh Huong believes that every artist today continues to be a soldier on the cultural front with a spirit of patriotism, love for the nation, love for culture, and love for the tragic beauty of the history of defending the country.
“When we have great love, we will have great aspirations, so that Vietnamese beauty can step out into the world through each work of art, in many fields. The meeting with 200 artists by General Secretary To Lam shows the attention of the Party and State leaders, the recognition, and gives strength to artists to make continuous efforts for a culture imbued with national identity, reaching out to the world in the new year 2025” - Thanh Huong said.
Previously, director Ly Hai also affirmed that he was inspired and encouraged to devote himself more to art after the sharing of General Secretary To Lam.
