According to Korean media reports on June 5, the second trial to determine the validity of the exclusive contract between NewJeans members and management company ADOR took place at the Seoul Central District Court building.
The NewJeans members did not appear in court today, instead, the group of lawyers represented them.
When the court's civil division No. 41 asked: "Do both sides wish to resolve the matter? , NewJeans responded through its legal representative that the trust relationship between the two sides has completely broken down.
On the other hand, ADOR replied: "If the court makes a decision related to this case, the settlement will be quite easy."
NewJeans argued that ADOR had failed to fulfill its essential management duties under the management contract. After sacking Min Hee Jin, ADOR made sudden changes to the board and as a result, NewJeans lost their independence.
Despite many requests to correct the errors, ADOR still did not comply.
However, ADOR stated that every time they went to court, NewJeans changed the reason why the group decided to terminate their exclusive contract. This shows that NewJeans has decided to terminate the contract first and is currently trying to find an excuse to confirm their actions.
After that, NewJeans stated that if we consider the evidence provided by ADOR, it is clear that the evidence is not enough...
Meanwhile, the court previously banned NewJeans from participating in any independent activities outside of ADOR. If NewJeans does not comply, the members will be fined 1 billion won each.
The third trial between NewJeans and ADOR will take place on July 24.
