Pilgrimage to the sacred mountain
In the religious life of Vietnam, going to sacred mountains to pray for peace and luck in early spring has become a tradition of many Vietnamese people. If in the North, people flock to sacred acupuncture points such as Nua Mountain (Thanh Hoa) or Da Chong Mountain (Ba Vi District, Hanoi), then in the South, Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh is considered the mountain that gathers the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and attracts the largest number of pilgrims.
This mountain is associated with Linh Son Thanh Mau (Ba Den) - a legend about the sacredness and salvation of sentient beings. Many legends about Ba Den's miraculousness are told here, making the act of worshiping her at the beginning of the year a traditional ritual of Tay Ninh people in particular and Southern people in general.
The system of 6 pagodas from the foot of the mountain to the middle of the mountain is the place to worship Linh Son Thanh Mau, in which the main place of worship is Dien Ba, formed from a cave from the past 3 centuries. This year, Dien Ba was renovated to be more spacious to meet the increasing pilgrimage needs of people and tourists when coming to the highest mountain in the South.
