The ancient banyan tree is located in Dinh Xa commune (Phu Ly city, Ha Nam province) associated with many ups and downs, witnessing the history of the people here. According to the elders here, the banyan tree has existed for more than 300 years, is attached to and is considered a "treasure" by the people.
In 2015, the banyan tree was recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.

Today, the heritage banyan tree is about 30m high, giving shade to a large campus. The tree has a unique root system, nearly 20 roots planted on the ground, large in shape, sturdy like large tree stumps.
During the war, under the tree canopy there was a gate (now a temple), which was renovated and worshiped by local people until now.
People here said that every time the villagers open a festival or community activities, they organize activities under this tree. Every day, villagers take turns cleaning and caring, when they discover dry branches with diseases and diseases, they will cut them down so that the banyan tree is always green.

Coincidentally passing by and seeing the banyan tree with a unique shape, Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang (in Phu Ly City) said: "I am impressed with this ancient banyan tree because the roots are planted in the ground to form large, strong tree stumps. Sitting under the shade, I felt the fresh, cool air and like returning to my childhood."
