On the evening of December 5, at Lam Vien Square, Lam Dong province, the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival was solemnly held.
The event attracted more than 15,000 people, tourists and delegates in the chilly atmosphere of Da Lat.
With the theme "Da Lat Flowers - Symphony of Colors", this event continues to affirm Da Lat's position as the Flower Festival city of Vietnam; and at the same time, one of the 5 most impressive Festival cities in Asia.
The opening program was elaborately staged, the performances highlighted the colorful beauty of Da Lat flowers and praised the efforts of flower growers, who have contributed to creating the brand "Da Lat - the land of thousands of flowers".
The opening stage also gathered many famous domestic and international artists such as: Ho Ngoc Ha, Ho Quynh Huong, Van Mai Huong, Ho Trung Dung, The Wings group, Korean artist Volin Jmiko... and other young and professional artists.
The performances not only bring visual satisfaction but also convey the message of the harmony between tradition, modernity, music and flowers, typical of Da Lat - Lam Dong culture.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hong Thai - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: "This festival not only inherits the good traditions of the previous 9 festivals but also symbolizes the spirit of solidarity, creativity and aspiration of Lam Dong people.
The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, through flowers and music, expresses the golden hearts of Lam Dong people overcoming difficulties and challenges. Through that, Da Lat flowers not only bring economic value but also become a symbol of the solidarity of 47 ethnic groups.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised Da Lat’s efforts in preserving and promoting its unique cultural, architectural and natural landscape values; and affirmed that the success of the previous nine festivals has contributed to making the Da Lat Flower Festival a national cultural event.
The Deputy Prime Minister also proposed sustainable development orientations in the coming time, emphasizing environmental protection and raising public awareness of nature-friendly behavior, reasonable exploitation of resources and sustainable development.
Developing the flower industry, promoting the application of technology, selecting and creating high-quality flower varieties, increasing the competitiveness of the Da Lat flower industry in the international market. Economic linkage, encouraging joint venture models, linkages between businesses and flower growers to enhance brand value...
Da Lat Flower Festival is not only an occasion to honor the beauty of flowers and art, but also an opportunity for Da Lat to promote its culture, tourism and economic potential.
