Launching the 42nd National Television Festival

The 42nd National Television Festival will officially kick off from March 19 to 22 in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province.

With 734 entries from 100 units, the National Television Festival continues to affirm its own appeal. The jury will score and award prizes to 11 categories including: Children's Program (26 works), Documentary Film (97 works), Reporting (140 works), Short Reporting (148 works), Faculty Program (46 works), Dialogue - Seminar Program (46 works), Ethnic Minority Television Program (52 works), Music and Dance Program (57 works), Stage (20 works), TV series (34 works) and Video on digital platform (66 works).

According to Deputy General Director of THVN Station - Do Thanh Hai, the Festival will have some changes in the category and quantity of entries. In which, the Specialist Program - Faculty of Education program category is converted to the Faculty of Education program. The Video category on digital platforms is adjusted with 3 categories: Video on digital platforms with political news content, Video on digital platforms with Culture - Education content, Video on digital platforms with Entertainment content.

The Feature Film category is further reduced to: 2 categories: Short film and Long film, and is more expanded in terms of episode number and duration. For short films, each film participates in a competition with less than 10 episodes, there is no regulation on the duration of each episode. Meanwhile, Long-running films do not stipulate the number of episodes in each film or the duration of each episode.

The children's program will also increase the duration of each program to no more than 45 minutes. Documentary 1 episode is expanded to include no more than 30 minutes and no more than 60 minutes for the entire film to participate in the competition.

In addition, the festival also attracts many outstanding events such as: Exhibition "TV technology technology technology", displaying photos with the theme "TV workers", Visiting the scenic spots of Binh Dinh... Notably, there are 2 thematic seminars with content closely following the practical development needs of the television industry and aiming to apply AI in activities.

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 6:00 p.m. on March 19, broadcast live on VTV's digital platform and Binh Dinh Radio and Television Station's BTV channel. The closing ceremony and award ceremony will be broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on March 22 on VTV1 channel.
