At the regular press conference on the socio-economic situation on the afternoon of February 6, Ms. Dinh To Hoa - Deputy Head of the Department of Technology and Tourism Information, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, in addition to organizing Tet activities, taking good care of the material and spiritual life of civil servants, public employees and workers at the agency, the Department of Tourism has deployed to tourist accommodation establishments and tourism businesses to implement measures to ensure security and safety for tourists, improving the quality of tourism services.
"The tourism environment is increasingly guaranteed thanks to the proactive coordination between relevant sectors and units and the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and the People's Committees of 21 districts," said a representative of the Department of Tourism.
Thereby, this Tet holiday, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry has achieved impressive results with the total number of international visitors estimated at 87,358, up 16.5% over the same period in 2024; the total number of visitors at tourist destinations is estimated at more than 2 million, up 16.7% over the same period in 2024; the accommodation room occupancy rate is estimated at 65%, up 44.4% over the same period in 2024; total revenue is estimated at VND 7,690 billion, up 17.4% over the same period in 2024.
Tourism businesses have proactively implemented many new and attractive tourism programs and products to meet the diverse needs of tourists.
Hotels, restaurants, and shopping establishments have improved service quality, decorated spaces to welcome Tet, organized fun, entertainment, and unique culinary activities to serve tourists.
Security, order and safety for tourists are ensured. Tourism businesses have strengthened fire prevention, food safety and hygiene, and environmental protection.
According to Ms. Hoa, tourists highly appreciate the quality of service, the diversity of tourism products, as well as the security and safety work of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism industry during the 2025 Lunar New Year.
