Amidst the trends of modern fashion development, Designer Linh Thao is still determined to move towards her "Gieo chi hat su Viet" path.

Starting a business

From a job to earn a living to help the family earn an income, Designer Linh Thao has gradually shaped her passion for meticulousness and likes to enjoy the products made from the needle and nose sugar she creates.

This designer started with the path he chose by majoring in Fashion Design at the Central Institute of Art Education. After graduating with honors in the Good category, Ms. Nam applied to major designers for 2 years, during that time she learned and was exposed to a more extensive profession, giving her many lessons and knowledge when developing her work later.

In 2017, Linh Thao returned to Hanoi. In the first half of her years of working on a large scale, specializing in hand-crafted landscaping combined with many famous brands and designers, she then took the opportunity to build her own brand with initial designs that were just small accessories.

From 2017 to 2019, she was involved in the worship of the Three and Four crossbreds Mother, she learned about the particular way of life, then studied more deeply, was passionate and loved religious cultural costumes, combined with a love for traditional craftsmen that was already in her blood, Linh Thao has started a great career until now, which is designing religious cultural costumes, Hau Dong cultural costumes.

When she first started her career, Ms. Thao encountered many difficulties. She shared: At that time, I was a young person but in Hanoi there was a craft village passed down from father to son in this field, so I was not really trusted.

Starting from a professional training background, I have new directions for myself. In addition to preserving conventions and complying with research standards, Thao has included new manual carving techniques, developed accessories of the times, and higher-end materials in the design.

In each traditional manual costume design, she always has to neutralize traditional and modern elements to "merge but not dissolve".

spreading traditional culture

In the early days, Linh Thao's Y Phuc Truyen Thong Tiem Lynh brand was not really well-known. Luckily, because it is directed towards a group of influential customers in the fashion industry who know about her previous achievements and have a unique quality in her fashion thinking, so they trust and use it.

Thanks to the images of "copper, copper" who have a profound influence in the world that people gradually know, love, accept designs and be more open to her new direction. From there, even the "bright coconut trees", those who came before were veteran in the belief community, many male and female burners of the temple and the bur bur bur bur bur burner, and those who had a good influence in Dao all trusted the design and supported her new direction.

The design of Linh Thao - the brand Y Phuc Truyen Thong - Khanh Chau Ao Ngu of Lynh shop has gradually affirmed its position, becoming a pioneer in designing cultural and belief costumes, opening a new direction for the next craft village and industry.

The most developed time of the brand is not only seen as business development but in 2024 until now when Linh Thao becomes an inspiration, a speaker and professional sponsor for large and small projects of students from schools of fashion, culture, media, and journalism to learn about ethnic culture and beliefs.

The greatest achievements are not in economics but in the spiritual values I bring, said designer Linh Thao.

Linh Thao's Lynh shop is different from other places in that it not only has senior, skilled artisans but also more than 50% of its staff are students from design schools, studying fashion.

"You are all young people, grasping trends very well but still preserving the quintessence of traditional culture, not shaping and using machines like places where father-son portends to another", she said.

Creating learning conditions and technical experiences helps students when graduating to be able to be confident in developing other work from the platforms that have been acquired from her.

Linh Thao said that on average, it will take 1 week to 10 days to create a product, for a product that is elaborate, it will take about half a month to 1 month, each stage will require 2 to many people to do, and there are many working hours. And the product is completely hand-sewn, so the product cost is very high.

Therefore, although they really want the product to reach more people, because of the high price of the product, most of the shop's customers are businessmen, temple gourmets, people with economy, high aesthetic taste and willing to spend.

According to Designer Linh Thao, today's young people are very diligent in exploring and meticulously implementing each project and event. She wants to remind young people to pursue traditional culture to have passion and keep their heart for the profession.

"We need to learn a lot to accumulate accurate knowledge about culture and the relics of ancient times. Doing any work related to culture, in addition to absorbing new trends, also needs to be preserved because culture is still an ethnic group," she expressed.
