In recent years, working abroad under contract has become the choice of many young workers across the country. Not only bringing opportunities to have higher incomes than working domestically, this direction also helps workers access a modern working environment, improve their skills and accumulate capital after many years of work.
According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management (Ministry of Home Affairs), in May 2026, the whole country had nearly 12,000 workers going to work abroad, including more than 3,900 female workers.

The markets receiving Vietnamese workers are quite diverse, led by Taiwan (China) with 5,764 workers, followed by Japan with 4,608 workers. In addition, there are markets such as Korea, China, Singapore and some other countries and territories.
According to records in Lam Dong province, the Center for Archives and Employment Services under the Department of Home Affairs regularly organizes job transaction sessions to advise, recruit and connect workers with labor export enterprises.
Here, workers are provided with information about labor markets, recruitment conditions, benefits when participating in the program as well as loan support policies up to 100% of contract costs.
Counseling programs have attracted a large number of people to learn about and register to participate. Many young workers see this as an opportunity to change their lives, stabilize their family economy and accumulate work experience in an international environment.

Grasping recruitment information from the Lam Dong Provincial Archives and Employment Service Center, Le Thanh Minh (born 2004) actively researched and registered to participate in the program to work abroad. According to Minh, this is a suitable choice to become financially independent soon, and at the same time support his family to improve their lives.
Sharing the same goal, Nguyen Dinh Phy (born 1997, Son My commune) is taking a Korean language class in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the Korean language proficiency test - one of the mandatory conditions before leaving the country to work in Korea.
I hope to pass the exam soon to be eligible to go to Korea to work, have a stable income to send back to help my family. Later when I return home, I will also have some capital to do business," Phy shared.
Supporting workers going to work abroad not only contributes to solving employment and increasing income but also creates a quality human resource for the locality after workers return home. With experience, professional skills and working style accumulated in the international environment, this force can make positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Accumulated from the beginning of 2026 to date, the whole country has had 53,159 workers going to work abroad under contract, reaching 47.5% of the annual plan. In which, Japan continues to be the market receiving the most Vietnamese workers with 24,030 people.
In 2026, the plan to send Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contract is 112,000 workers.
