Defense technology company Galvion has just introduced a new version of the smart combat helmet line called CORTEX EVO at the SOF Week 2026 event (taking place from May 18 to 21, 2026 in Tampa, Florida, USA). The device is oriented to become a digital combat support platform for modern soldiers.
According to Galvion, CORTEX EVO not only plays the role of head protection like traditional helmet models but also integrates power, processors and data connection capabilities right inside the helmet body.
This design helps reduce dependence on external devices, while simplifying the use of mission systems on the battlefield.
The center of the system is AlertCentr software, which allows displaying task data directly through the helmet.
This software is in the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) ecosystem, which is the platform commonly used by the military to share combat information in real time.
The core of this design is AlertCentr software, which supports customizable sound and image warnings, helping soldiers quickly respond to important information.
According to the manufacturer, the system allows users to manage data at the personal level and increase the ability to recognize situations in complex combat environments.
Galvion said that CORTEX EVO is manufactured with an integrated bulletproof core, combining data transmission lines and power inside the composite shell.
Despite adding many new technologies, this helmet model still meets current standards for weight, size and protection.
One of the notable points of CORTEX EVO is its open architecture, allowing the integration of many different technologies and devices.
The system can connect to TAK video, battlefield sensors, navigation tools and digital headphones.
In addition, helmets also support identification and detection functions to improve soldiers' observation and coordination capabilities during combat.
To develop this system, Galvion has partnered with many different defense technology companies.
Sentinel Photonics provides laser threat detection technology, while Adventure Lights supports teammate or enemy recognition and intermediate laser detection capabilities.
In addition, the defense technology company Thermoteknix also participates in integrating equipment using optical imaging and integration imaging technology, while Distance Technologies provides vision enhancement solutions.
Mr. Jonathan Blanshay, founder and CEO of Galvion, said that devices for digital age soldiers need to meet requirements for modularity, scalability and long-term upgrades.
According to him, CORTEX EVO is the result of many years of research, design and development based on the experience of deploying millions of military helmets before.
