On October 22, Thu Duc City Police (HCMC) continued to investigate many traffic accidents that occurred in the area, causing human losses.
The most recent accident occurred on the afternoon of October 21, when female student N.T.T (20 years old, from Dong Nai) was crossing Le Van Viet Street (Tang Nhon Phu A Ward, Thu Duc City) when she was hit by a motorbike with a Lam Dong license plate driven by Nguyen Thien P (21 years old, from Binh Phuoc).
Ms. T was taken to Thu Duc Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment, then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital but did not survive.
Previously, on October 18, another accident occurred between a truck with a HCMC license plate driven by H (30 years old, residing in Lam Dong province) on Highway 14, from Linh Trung Street to National Highway 1. When turning right onto National Highway 1 (in Linh Trung ward), it collided with two motorbikes running in the same direction driven by Mr. N (19 years old, residing in Soc Trang province) and Ms. P (19 years old, student, residing in Binh Duong province).
Ms. P fell onto the road and was caught under the car. Although she was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, she died later.
On October 15, a traffic accident occurred on Mai Chi Tho Street between a motorbike and a car. The motorbike driver was identified as a 14-year-old female student in grade 9, driving a 50cc motorbike.
Initially, it was determined that the female student crashed into a rescue car parked on the side of the road and died.
The most serious accident occurred on the afternoon of October 10, when two female students, L and H, were driving through the Phu Huu roundabout when they collided with a concrete mixer truck with a HCMC license plate driven by driver Ph (27 years old), causing the two female students to fall onto the road and be run over by the wheels.
Thus, within 12 days, in Thu Duc City, there were 5 female students who died due to traffic accidents.
