Speaking to reporters, Mr. Bui Duc Thuan - Director of the Project Management Board for Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development of Quang Ngai City said that it is expected that all items will be completed and qualified for use no later than March 10, 2025, to prepare the ground for organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Ba To Uprising (March 11, 1945 - March 11, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai Province Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).
The project to upgrade and beautify Pham Van Dong Street and the city square has a total area of 12.2 hectares, including 2 parts: investing in and renovating the square and regulating lake and investing in and upgrading Pham Van Dong Street.
For the Pham Van Dong Street upgrade project, the project will comprehensively upgrade Pham Van Dong Street, with a length of more than 1.6km. After the upgrade, Pham Van Dong Street will no longer have a median strip and the lighting system will be moved to both sides of the sidewalk...
After the renovation, Pham Van Dong Street Square will have many changes. Notably, the flagpole area will be arranged towards Nghia Chanh Lake and is expected to have 11 flagpoles instead of just one as before. In the middle of Nghia Chanh Lake, there will be an additional viewing platform. This place is both a place for people and tourists to sit and enjoy the scenery, and also a stage for some performances and entertainment activities.
Along with that, Pham Van Dong Street Square has invested in a library with suitable interior and outdoor landscape, to serve many different activities related to reading, fairs, etc. This is a project that contributes to honoring and developing reading culture - something that not every square has.
The representative of the contractor consortium said: "According to the contract signed with the investor, the project implementation period is 120 days. However, we will take advantage of favorable weather to focus on speeding up the progress to complete the project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai's liberation by the end of March 2025."
