1,249 soldiers radiant with their families on discharge day

Ho Chi Minh City - On January 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Command solemnly organized a send-off ceremony to welcome 1,249 soldiers who completed their military service in 2026 back to their localities.

The ceremony was held simultaneously at 4 locations including: Gia Dinh Regiment; Infantry Regiment 6; Minh Dam Regiment; Regional Defense Command 6.

At Gia Dinh Regiment, the Ho Chi Minh City Command organized the send-off of 708/1,249 soldiers who completed their military service in 2026. The demobilized soldiers in this phase are lower officers and soldiers enlisted in February 2024, who have completed 24 months of active service as prescribed.

Speaking to direct at the ceremony, Major General Phan Quoc Viet - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Command requested that, after returning to the locality, military officers and soldiers assigned to reserve units be encouraged and participate in labor and work in many fields of social life.

In any position, comrades must continue to maintain and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", strictly comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State and local regulations; actively participate in movements and campaigns; constantly study and train to improve their qualifications; firmly maintain political bravery, proactively fight against wrong and hostile views; be ready to receive and successfully complete tasks when the Fatherland needs them" - Major General Phan Quoc Viet emphasized.

On the day of completing his military service, Corporal Dao Tan Phat could not hide his emotion when he was happy with his family. He said that after 2 years of training in the military environment, he has matured both in thought and bravery.

I am very excited to return to my family. With the experience, skills and knowledge accumulated during my military service, I am confident that I will become a useful person for myself, my family and society," said Corporal Dao Tan Phat.

Sharing the same happiness, Sergeant Le Minh Tri said that what made him most proud during his time in the army was being trained and growing up in a formal and professional military environment.

When I return to the locality, I will focus on doing business, contributing to my family and homeland. In particular, I am always ready to perform tasks when the locality and the Fatherland need me," Senior Sergeant Le Minh Tri shared.

Throughout their military service, the soldiers were comprehensively trained in political ideology, moral qualities, military level and lifestyle. Many soldiers achieved outstanding achievements, including 429 soldiers being promoted to the rank of Sergeant; 297 soldiers being promoted to the rank of Sergeant; 514 soldiers being promoted to the rank of Corporal; 7 soldiers being promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

In addition, 49 military personnel were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam; 18 military personnel met the conditions and standards to participate in reserve officer training; 4 military personnel met the conditions to select professional military personnel in 2025.

Military personnel after discharge will be rewarded with support amounts according to regime and policy standards. In addition, each military personnel will receive a Tet gift supported by the Ministry of National Defense, and a Tet gift in cash supported by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
