On February 27, speaking with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Muoi - Head of the Department of Fisheries of Quang Ngai province confirmed the above information.
According to regulations, by December 31, 2024, the deadline for registration and inspection procedures for "3 no" fishing vessels (no registration, no inspection, no licensing) has expired. However, according to the report of the Department of Fisheries of Quang Ngai province, the whole province currently has 499 "3 no" fishing vessels, of which 129 vessels are not registered and 370 vessels are not eligible for registration. Thus, currently 129 unregistered vessels will not be allowed to operate at sea and to ensure the conditions according to the recommendation of the European Commission (EC), all of these vessels have been removed from the list of local fishing vessels.

Ly Son district is the locality with the largest number of "3 no" unregistered ships, with 111 ships. Statistics show that most of these ships are under 12m long, with a capacity of 10 - 40CV, only fishing in coastal waters. Mr. Vo Tri Thoi - Deputy Head of the Department of Economics and Rural Infrastructure of Ly Son district said that in 2024, the department has coordinated with localities in the district to step up propaganda, visiting the homes of ship owners named in the "3 no" fishing boat list many times to carry out registration and inspection procedures. However, up to this point, 111 fishing vessels have not yet completed registration and inspection procedures. The Department will advise the District People's Committee to propose removing the names of these vessels from the list of local fishing vessels.
Binh Son district also has 10 "3 no" fishing vessels that have not registered (all concentrated in Binh Hai commune). According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Vu - Vice Chairman of Binh Hai Commune People's Committee, these 10 "3 no" fishing vessels are currently anchored in the locality. The commune coordinated with Binh Hai Border Control Station to monitor and supervise, absolutely not allowing these fishing vessels to leave the wharf to fish and focus on handling these fishing vessels according to regulations.
Eliminating "3 no" fishing vessels is one of the important contents to meet the requirements of combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The leaders of Quang Ngai province have directed the authorities to completely handle "3 no" fishing vessels according to regulations before March 10, 2025, to contribute to the whole country in removing the "yellow card" for seafood.
