According to the schedule, the Long Thanh airport project must be basically completed, ensuring standards and conditions to be inaugurated on December 19, 2025.
On December 2, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, in package 5.10 for the construction of the Long Thanh airport passenger terminal, the construction atmosphere was very urgent. This is the most important package of the entire project and is considered the heart of Long Thanh airport.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Nghia - Commander of the elevator and escalator system construction in package 5.10 - Long Thanh airport passenger terminal said that the construction is being urgently implemented, closely following the plan on December 19, the work of installing mechanics, electricity, balancing, and operation is under construction "3 shifts, 4 teams" to complete and put into operation 108 elevators on all 3 wings of the terminal.
Worker Dang Ngoc Trieu said he has been working at the Long Thanh airport project since March 2025 and he is very proud to be working at the national key project, working with other workers to ensure progress.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the project investor, to serve the construction of 12 packages, contractors are mobilizing nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, workers and more than 3,000 construction equipment, organizing hundreds of construction teams to speed up the progress with the goal of basically completing the project before December 19, 2025. With the high determination of contractors, the main packages of Component Project 3 and Long Thanh Airport Project are closely following the set schedule.
All packages and items must be completed before December 19
With package 4.7, airfield, according to ACV, the items will be completed before December 19, including the entire structure of the passenger terminal airfield; tunnel for ground clearance equipment; drainage system; lighting system for the airport area, taxiway and airfield lighting system.
Meanwhile, with package 4.8, inland transportation and technical infrastructure, priority tuyenel routes have been basically completed to deploy the installation of equipment for water supply and drainage systems, electricity, ICT... At the same time, the main axis road items connecting passenger terminals, service routes to the exploitation service area of phase 1, station, and power supply will be completed before December 19.
With package 5.10, construction of the passenger terminal, the most important package of the project, the construction and architecture part will meet the basic target of completion before December 19. Particularly for the construction items of the MEPF system (electricity, water, ventilation, fire prevention and fighting); ICT and TE (IT technology, terminal equipment) are being accelerated.
In particular, the contractor consortium will complete the construction of cable pulling and connection to supply equipment for medium-voltage cabinets, low-voltage cabinets, electrical conductors, light cables (SCS system), fire alarm (FAS system), wind pipeline system, water supply, drainage... before December 19.
The installation of pipeline systems, fire pumping systems, and fire fighting systems will also be completed before the project's inauguration.
Regarding the construction of equipment for the passenger terminal, the installation of mechanical equipment for the luggage handling system (BHS); luggage screening systems for checked baggage (HBS), aircraft handling (VDGS), escalators, pedestrian elevators (ES/MW), elevators (EL) ... is expected to be completed in December 2025.
Along with that, 28/64 passenger bridges of Long Thanh airport terminal will be completed before December 19
For Component Project 2 - works serving flight management, Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the project investor, launched a 20-day competition to complete the project on schedule, ensuring readiness to serve technical flights and complete items on December 19 in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction.
According to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), on December 19, Long Thanh airport will welcome the first flight from Hanoi to Long Thanh International Airport. The plane will roll into the completed terminal through the cable-stayed pipeline system, completing the inauguration procedures for the first phase of the project. December 19 is also the day to complete all packages and items.
