On the evening of November 1, BP 13-98-01 of the 2nd Border Guard Squadron (HCMC Border Guard Command) docked in Rach Dua Ward (HCMC), bringing 11 crew members of the two fishing boats TG-90738.TS and BV-92437.TS in distress at sea safely to shore.
Previously, at about 2:50 p.m. on November 1, in the sea about 8 nautical miles southeast of Vung Tau Cape, the two fishing vessels collided with the cargo ship SEA NOBLE ( Panama nationality), causing both fishing vessels to sink. Upon receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command directed Border Guard Squadron 2 to mobilize the BP 13-98-01 ship and mobile forces to the scene.

At around 5:00 p.m., the BP 13-98-01 ship approached the scene, receiving 11 crew members in distress, including 1 crew member with facial injuries, chest tightness and difficulty breathing. The soldiers of the 2nd Border Guard Squadron quickly examined, provided medical care, and provided necessary items to ensure the health of the crew members.
According to Mr. L.V.T - captain of fishing boat TG-90738.TS, when both boats from Phuoc Tinh port arrived at the above location, one boat had an accident, so the two boats packed together to handle the situation. After that, the crew discovered the cargo ship approaching, although it had shouted loudly, the cargo ship could not detect it and collided.
After the collision, one fishing boat immediately sank, the other gradually sank afterwards. The crew members clung to the items to float at sea, and were lucky to have 2 other fishing boats passing by to rescue them, and at the same time reported the incident to the Border Guard.
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command, the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority and related units have requested the SEA NOBLE ship to anchor in Vung Tau waters to serve the investigation, verification and handling of the case according to regulations.
