Binh Dinh - While going swimming together on Tet holiday, 2 out of 11 young people were unfortunately swept away by the waves, leading to drowning and death.

On February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), Mr. Le Xuan Thuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of My An commune (Phu My district, Binh Dinh) said that the locality had found the bodies of 2 young men who died from drowning while swimming in the sea in the commune.

"This morning, the authorities and local people found and recovered the bodies of two young men who died from drowning to hand over to their families for funeral arrangements. Currently, the local authorities have visited and encouraged the families of the two victims," ​​said Mr. Thuong.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of February 1, a group of 11 young people invited each other to the beach area of ​​Xuan Thanh Nam village (My An commune) to swim and have fun on Tet holiday.

While bathing, D.N.H (18 years old, residing in My Chau commune, Phu My district) and T.H.T (18 years old, residing in My Loc commune, Phu My district) drowned, were swept away by waves and went missing.

According to Mr. Thuong, at the time the group of young men were swimming, the sea area in Xuan Thanh Nam village had big waves, and this was not a place for people to swim.
