22,324 households in Yen Bai were evacuated after floods

Up to now, Yen Bai province has organized the evacuation and arranged temporary accommodation for 22,324 households whose houses completely collapsed and had to be urgently evacuated due to the impact of floods.

At the conference to review the work of preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 held on the afternoon of October 9, the leader of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has mobilized the entire political system to focus on responding to and overcoming storm No. 3.

Yen Bai province has organized the relocation and temporary accommodation for 22,324 households whose houses had completely collapsed, had to be urgently relocated, and households whose houses were severely damaged; supported 866/1,411 eligible houses with a total budget of more than 29 billion VND. Along with that, directed specialized agencies and localities to urgently arrange resettlement land for households that had to relocate due to loss of land and houses; focused human and material resources to repair infrastructure works, meeting people's needs.

Speaking at the Conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee Ta Van Long proposed to speed up the arrangement of resettlement land for households displaced by the impact of storm No. 3, to be completed before December 31, 2024.

In Yen Bai, the impact of storm No. 3 left 54 ​​people dead and missing; 27,331 houses damaged and affected; many infrastructures and agricultural production facilities were damaged.

Preliminary damage estimates are about 5,738 billion VND.
