4 major projects simultaneously inaugurated and started construction in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City simultaneously inaugurated Tan Son Nhat T3 Station, Tran Quoc Hoan connecting road, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway section and started construction of Can Gio coastal urban area.

Inauguration of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal

On the morning of April 19, Tan Son Nhat airport's T3 terminal was inaugurated after nearly 2 years of construction, 2 months ahead of schedule.

This is one of the key projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

With a total investment of nearly VND 11,000 billion, Terminal T3 has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year, helping to increase the total operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers/year.

On the inauguration day, Vietnam Airlines will operate 49 flights departing and landing at Terminal T3, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Hanoi and Van Don (Quang Ninh), serving nearly 12,000 passengers.

Opening of the entire Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road

Connecting with T3 station, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project with a total investment of more than VND4,800 billion also opened to traffic on the morning of April 19.

The project has a main route 25 - 48 m wide for 6 lanes, along with two connecting branch roads, with a scale of 3 - 4 lanes. On the route, there is an overpass built in front of Tan Son Nhat T3 station and two underpasses at the intersections at both ends.

The road put into operation outside of the T3 station connection will break the monopoly of the only entrance to the airport, Truong Son road, reducing congestion in the area.

Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway opens to Ho Chi Minh City

Also on the morning of April 19, an 18.8 km section of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway was officially opened to traffic, connecting from Le Kha Pieu Street (formerly National Highway 1, Binh Chanh District) to Nguyen Van Tao intersection (Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City).

Previously, a 3.4 km section from My Yen intersection (Long An) to Le Kha Pieu street (Binh Chanh district) was put into operation. Thus, up to now, vehicles can continuously travel more than 22 km from My Yen intersection to Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park - Port (Nha Be).

Currently, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway has opened nearly 30 km out of a total of 57 km, aiming to complete the entire route by 2026.

Starting construction of Can Gio coastal urban area

Also on the same morning, the Can Gio Coastal Tourism Urban Area project was officially started.

The project is 2,870 hectares wide, of which the sea encroachment item is 1,357 hectares wide, divided into 4 functional subdivisions (A, B, C and D'E).

The total investment of the project is more than 217,000 billion VND (nearly 9 billion USD), with an expected population of about 230,000 people and the ability to welcome 8 - 9 million tourists per year.

The project aims to develop Can Gio into an urban area of marine tourism, resorts, smart with high-tech services, housing and hotels.
