8 fishermen on the fishing boat in distress were brought to Con Co island

Quang Tri - The Coast Guard Region 1 Command rescued and brought 8 fishermen on a fishing boat in distress at sea to Con Co Island.

At noon on December 9, Con Co Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) confirmed that 8 fishermen and the fishing boat that had an accident at sea had been allowed to enter Con Co Island.

Previously, on November 29, fishing boat numbered DNa 90403 TS with 8 fishermen departed from Da Nang to go fishing at sea.

When reaching an area 35 nautical miles northeast of Con Co Island (Quang Tri province), the ship's gearbox broke down and it sent out a distress signal.

Upon receiving the information, ship CSB 8004 of Squadron 11 (Command of Coast Guard Region 1) moved to the area where the ship was in distress to deploy a rescue plan.

At this time, there were level 6 and 7 waves at sea. After approaching the fishing boat, CSB 8004 towed the fishing boat and arrived at Con Co Island at 9:00 a.m. on December 9.

Con Co Border Guard Station received the boat and 8 fishermen. The fishermen's health is currently stable.
