As Lao Dong reported, the fire occurred at the procedures area where the goods were controlled.
After collecting information and data from cameras and witnesses to the fire, the authorities initially determined that the fire originated from a backpack of a Vietnamese citizen.
At about 8:15 a.m. the same day, this person, while completing the entry procedure, brought a backpack containing goods in the form of a roll
When arriving at the check-in and check-in area for imported baggage, this backpack suddenly caught fire, burning 4 people, including a Customs officer and three Vietnamese citizens.

The authorities at the border gate quickly deployed rescue, took the injured to the emergency room, moved their assets and controlled the fire.
Leaders of Mong Cai city and the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command were present at the scene to direct the remedial work, ensuring normal entry and exit activities immediately afterwards.
Currently, Mong Cai International Border Guard Station is coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
