According to records, as of nearly 8:00 p.m. on May 4, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force was still actively spraying water to extinguish the fire at the scene. The fire broke out at around 6pm, then quickly spread.
Mr. Nguyen Vu (residing in Thu Duc City) - a resident living nearby - said: "Seeing the fire spreading quickly, I and some people used mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but it was ineffective, then called the authorities to report it."
The area where the fire broke out was near many soccer fields, where many people were playing sports. When discovering a large fire, many people rushed outside to ensure safety. Inside the grass, many foam boxes were gathered, increasing the risk of the fire spreading. Some people helped move the foam boxes away from the fire area.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Police mobilized specialized vehicles to the scene, deploying a plan to put out the fire and prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding area.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified.
