In the early morning of December 25, the thick layer of ice appeared on Fansipan peak (Lao Cai), creating a completely white scene that attracted many tourists to experience the cold of early winter in the highlands.
According to records, by dawn, the temperature on Fansipan peak was only about 1-3°C. The layer of ice Adheres thickly to the stone steps, railings and the flagpole area, creating conditions for visitors to grasp the small pieces like snow.
Many people took the opportunity to take the cable car early to admire the rare scenery, preserving the clear winter moment amidst the clear sky and clouds hanging around the mountain top.

The phenomenon of deep ice on Fansipan this year is assessed to appear early and repeat many times. If the cold air continues to strengthen in the coming days, the possibility of snow appearing is being raised.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected the northern mountainous areas since December 24, causing rain and reducing temperatures to 3-5°C.


Previously, on December 20, Fansipan also recorded frost covering the entire area when the temperature reached 0°C.
