Evaluating the results of emulation and reward activities, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - commented: In 2024, emulation and reward work will continue to be implemented synchronously, vibrantly, practically and effectively; creating a strong influence throughout the association system, contributing to propaganda work, orienting public opinion, building solidarity, raising awareness of responsibility among members.

Emulation movements at the central and local levels, especially writing contests on typical advanced examples and new rural construction, have contributed significantly to spreading the spirit of patriotic emulation, encouraging new, typical advanced factors in all areas of social life. Thereby, arousing the spirit of creativity and social responsibility of the team of journalists, actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
However, the Standing Vice President of the Journalists Association also pointed out limitations such as: emulation movements have not developed comprehensively, evenly and continuously; in some places, they are still formal, not closely linked to political tasks and propaganda work; the effectiveness of some movements is still limited; the preliminary and final work at some levels of the association has not received due attention.
In addition, many associations have not been proactive in rewarding collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities, association work or social and charitable activities. The discovery and replication of advanced models are still slow; the number of reporters, editors, and full-time staff proposed for awards is still limited.
In the coming time, the Vietnam Journalists Association aims to continue to innovate, improve the quality of emulation, reward, and overcome the limitations pointed out to create stronger momentum for the development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism - Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized.
Presenting the Summary Report on emulation and reward work in 2024, Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - affirmed the role of effective coordination between the Association and relevant departments and ministries in organizing writing contests and thematic press awards, focusing on key issues of the country.
One of the highlights of 2024 is the active response from associations and press agencies to the movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" associated with the 12 cultural criteria. According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, the movement has contributed to creating positive changes in consolidating and building an increasingly clean and strong Association organization.
According to Mr. Dung, associations at all levels have closely followed the Regulations on emulation, reward and summary guidance of the Vietnam Journalists Association. In 2024, the Journalists' Associations of provinces and cities; Lien minh Chi Minh City; and affiliated branches decided to reward 140 collectives and 737 individuals with Certificates of Merit.
The Emulation and Reward Council of the Vietnam Journalists' Association has reviewed and proposed the Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association to decide to award the Emulation Flag to 21 collectives; Certificates of Merit to 28 collectives and 51 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's activities.
