Attending the event were Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh - Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Party Secretary, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, and representatives of departments, branches, sectors and units of Quang Ninh province.
The new Northeast Representative Office at 105 Hong Hai Street, Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City, was approved under Decision No. 7171/QD-TLD dated May 10, 2023 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with a total investment of VND 2.8 billion.
The project has a 2-storey, 1-attic design, with an area of 90m² per floor, including a centralized workspace, meeting room, multimedia studio and reporter office. The project started in April 2024 and was completed in August 2024.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - emphasized: "Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the earliest press agencies present in Quang Ninh, since 1994. The new headquarters will help the Newspaper's Northeastern Regional Representative Office continue to promote its role in providing accurate information and supporting workers."
At the event, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Lao Dong Newspaper donated 520 million VND to support workers in Quang Ninh province, helping them overcome difficulties after the damage caused by storm No. 3. Previously, the Fund also supported 869 million VND for Ha Long residents to repair and rebuild houses damaged by storm No. 3.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh expressed her gratitude to Lao Dong Newspaper for its practical support, both material and spiritual, to help the province overcome the consequences of the storm."The development of Quang Ninh province today has a great contribution from Lao Dong Newspaper, a press agency that has always accompanied and attached to Quang Ninh province on the path of socio-economic development, especially in ideological work. Many articles of the newspaper are of a discovery nature so that the Party Committee and the government can have better solutions in the process of direction and administration".
On this occasion, in order to recognize the contributions of the Office representing Lao Dong Newspaper in the Northeast region, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province awarded a certificate of merit to the Northeast Office of Lao Dong Newspaper and Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the Northeast Office.
