Gia Lai - The authorities discovered and caught red-handed illegal land mining activities taking place in the Hon Vong Phu mountain area, and temporarily seized many exhibits.

On July 19, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan An commune (Gia Lai province) - confirmed that the authorities had just discovered and caught red-handed an illegal land exploitation case that occurred in the commune.

The authorities have brought the violating vehicles to the headquarters of the Commune People's Committee for temporary detention, including 2 trucks carrying soil, 1 truck without soil and a excavator operating at the scene.

According to initial information, in the early morning of the same day, the working group of the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes and Smuggling (Gia Lai Provincial Police) in coordination with Xuan An Commune Police discovered and caught red-handed large-scale illegal land mining activities taking place in the Hon Vong Phu mountain area (Xuan An village).

The mining area is located on a plot of land used by Mr. Le Thanh Tai (residing in Xuan An commune). At the scene, the driver of the excavator and the truck could not present valid documents related to the exploitation of the soil.

The case is being further investigated and verified by the authorities to be handled in accordance with regulations.
