On February 4, information from Ben Tre Provincial Police said that Ben Tre Provincial authorities discovered the bodies of three victims who were swept away and went missing on the Tien River (at Cay Duong ferry terminal, Tan Tay hamlet, Tan Phu commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province), about 50m from the initial accident location.
Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. on February 3, a group of four young men went swimming in the river and picked water hyacinth flowers at the Cay Duong ferry terminal. When the group swam across the abandoned fish pond drain, they were suddenly sucked into the drain.
At this time, L.M.H escaped and tried to save his 3 friends but failed. Afterwards, L.M.H swam to shore, called for help and reported the incident.

Ben Tre provincial authorities arrived at the scene, deployed forces and equipment, and worked tirelessly day and night to search and rescue. At the time of the incident, due to the high water level of the river, the suction force of water from the river into the fish pond was very strong, so the search and rescue work encountered many difficulties.
At around 2:00 p.m. on February 4, authorities found the bodies of three victims about 50 meters from the original accident site.
The victims were identified as: D.H.H (23 years old), M.V.P.Q (born 22 years old), T.H.D (22 years old), all living in Tan Tay hamlet, Tan Phu commune, Chau Thanh district.
After bringing the body ashore, the authorities completed all legal procedures and handed over the body to the family for burial. The case is currently being investigated by the authorities of Ben Tre province to clarify the cause and handle it according to the law.
