Visiting the family of Mrs. Nghiem Thi My (born in 1938, in Han Lu residential group, Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city) - mother of martyr Nguyen Quoc Khanh who died in 1980 in Laos and the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Ban (born in 1947, in Vinh Thinh Dong residential group, Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city) who is a war invalid, sick soldier, resistance activist who was infected with toxic chemicals and was captured and imprisoned by the enemy, the Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee encouraged, asked about health and expressed deep gratitude for the great contributions of the families of war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services in the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland.
Mr. Duong Van An hopes that families will continue to promote revolutionary traditions, encourage and educate their children and grandchildren to foster patriotism, love for their compatriots and the Fatherland; unite and contribute to building Vinh Phuc homeland to become increasingly rich and prosperous.

On this occasion, Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An also requested all levels and sectors in the area to continue to pay attention to implementing well the work of "Repaying gratitude", taking care of the material and spiritual life of war invalids, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, creating all conditions for families to have an increasingly better life.
Along with that, organize and seriously, closely and effectively implement the Party and State's policies for those who have contributed to the revolution, ensuring that war invalids, families of policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the revolution enjoy full benefits of policies according to the regulations of the Party and State.
Previously, on the morning of July 26, working delegations of Vinh Phuc province also visited and presented gifts to families of war invalids and martyrs' relatives in Binh Xuyen district, Tam Dao district, Phuc Yen city... on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024).
The province currently has more than 128,000 meritorious people, of which nearly 17,300 meritorious people and their relatives are receiving monthly allowances; 14 Vietnamese heroic mothers are still alive.
In order to effectively carry out the work of gratitude, in recent years, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have directed all levels, sectors and localities to fully, promptly and in accordance with regulations for people with meritorious services; to adjust the monthly and one-time subsidy and preferential allowance levels for people with meritorious services. Policy beneficiaries enjoy preferential treatment in education and training, orthopedic equipment provision, and health insurance.
Well implementing the policy regime for meritorious people and their relatives, in 2023, the province implemented the nursing regime for meritorious people and their relatives for the revolution for 12,817 people; of which 3,521 people were cared for in a centralized facility, 9,296 people were cared for at home.
Implementing well the settlement of policies for people with meritorious services and their relatives in accordance with the administrative procedures, 100% of the files were settled before the deadline and on time, with no late files. In the first 6 months of this year, the province sent 1,194 people with meritorious services to concentrated treatment in the provinces of Son La, Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa; completed the opening of bank accounts to pay policies for 14,673 people with meritorious services in the province. Along with that, the province recognized and settled the regime for 34 people who participated in the resistance war and were infected with toxic chemicals; introduced 40 files of people who participated in the resistance war in the area where the US sprayed toxic chemicals to the provincial Medical Examination Center for assessment of the rate of body damage.
