Binh Dinh wants green transformation in many fields

On November 15, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and Vingroup Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation in promoting green transformation in the province, focusing on developing a green transport ecosystem using electric vehicles.

After reaching an agreement, Vingroup will research and propose solutions to promote "6 green" in Binh Dinh (green tourism, green industry, green agriculture, green urban infrastructure, green transportation and green lifestyle). The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the lowest level (net emissions to 0), in order to develop the economy - society, and people's lives in a sustainable way.

As for Binh Dinh province, this locality will accompany and call on people to respond to the movement "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future"; create conditions for people to make a green transition to using electric vehicles. The province also introduces to V-GREEN Company suitable locations to develop a network of charging stations.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that with the current trend, green transformation is inevitable. And Binh Dinh wants green transformation in many sectors and fields.

"Binh Dinh identifies tourism as a spearhead, this is unique to the province, therefore, the locality wants the green transformation project to target key industries. We really want Vingroup to choose Binh Dinh as a priority locality to implement green transformation in transportation", said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.

The "handshake" after 20 years of reunion

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Binh Dinh's current infrastructure and planning are very stable compared to other provinces in the region, which is a condition for Vingroup Corporation to easily deploy investment projects.

"Vingroup should pay attention to some production projects serving the transportation system, possibly establishing a branch or building a factory in Binh Dinh, because the province's land is very large, the rental price is cheap, and the transportation system is guaranteed. The province is ready to welcome new things from Vingroup deployed in Binh Dinh, including production or testing," Mr. Pham Anh Tuan suggested.

"20 years ago, Vingroup Corporation came to Binh Dinh, however, the opportunity did not come together. I hope this time, we will be successful," said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan.

On the side of Vingroup Corporation, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of the Corporation assessed that through work, Binh Dinh is a very "speedy" province in promoting investment, from surveying charging stations to organizing the signing ceremony, which made Vingroup Corporation very impressed.

"Over the past 20 years, Binh Dinh and Vingroup have not had a chance to meet. Hopefully, with today's signing, both sides will develop further," said Ms. Thuy, adding that protecting the environment and developing a sustainable green economy in Binh Dinh is a very good direction.
