On August 9, a source from Lao Động reported that the leaders of the People's Committee of Bình Định province agreed to extend the time for organizing the competition for ideas on designing the urban planning of underground spaces in the area of the Children's Park and the area of the Quy Nhơn Square (Quy Nhơn City) until September 2024, in order to continue inviting organizations and individuals to participate in the competition as proposed by the Department of Construction of the province.

According to the leaders of the Department of Construction of Bình Định Province, after two rounds of competition, very few people participated, and there were not enough entries to organize a council to evaluate the competition.
In 2023, Bình Định Province agreed to organize a competition for ideas on designing the urban planning of underground spaces on the territory of Quy Nhơn City and assigned the Department of Construction to be responsible for organizing and implementing the project.
Accordingly, the proposed location for the urban planning of underground spaces for research includes: Location 1 located in the area of the Children's Park with an area of approximately 5ha; Location 2 located in the area of the Quy Nhơn Square, with a scale of 3.61ha.
The leaders of the Department of Construction of Bình Định Province - stated that in reality, the inner city of Quy Nhơn City currently does not have any land available for building service projects to serve tourism, so the Department has researched other spaces to exploit the space of Quy Nhơn City. As for the prize structure, there will be 1 first prize with a cash award of 500 million VND.
