Binh Dinh requests to handle shortcomings on National Highway 19

On October 11, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province directed agencies, units, and localities to jointly handle traffic infrastructure problems on National Highway 19.

Accordingly, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan assigned the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to coordinate and work with Road Management Area III, Project Management Board 2, Project Management Board 85, BOT 36.71 Company Limited and related units to fix road surface damage and shortcomings on National Highway 19 to ensure traffic safety, especially during the rainy season of 2024.

Assign the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province to urgently coordinate with Road Management Area III and related units to promptly fix potential traffic accident points. Specifically, in the area of ​​Km38+570 and Km39+482 of National Highway 19 through Phu An village (Tay Xuan commune, Tay Son district).

At the same time, it is recommended that Project Management Board 2 and Project Management Board 85 strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and labor safety during the construction of projects. It is necessary to install signs, barriers, guide posts, assign permanent guards to direct traffic during the day, have flashing warning lights, and increase lighting at night.

For points at risk of traffic congestion in the An Khe Pass section of the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands (National Highway 19), urgently install protective walls at curved locations, large vertical slopes, and dangerous deep ravines to warn vehicles; paint road markings to improve traffic safety.

Develop a plan to prevent natural disasters; prepare supplies, materials, and means to respond to traffic congestion immediately when it occurs, especially in sections where foundations and roadbeds are being constructed.

Urgently overcome the shortcomings of traffic infrastructure on National Highway 19 such as: Handling potholes and uneven road surfaces at Km62+200, Km63+400, Km64+500, Km65+900, Km66+400, Km66+900, Km66+980; renovating the traffic safety signal system at the Ba La temporary bridgehead (Km51+152) and some locations from Km64 to Km66...
